THE MORTON FERRY HOUSE
The Morton Ferry House was built in Richmond Texas in 1836 by
William Morton, one of Stephen F. Austin's original 300 settlers. The
home site was used as a crossing for the Brazos River. The house sits on
six acres of wooded land, beautifully landscaped with Victorian gardens,
pathways and even a tree fort around a hundred year old oak.
On the adjacent lot a 1000 sq ft log cabin adds to the charm. Presently
used as an artist studio, it lends itself to any home based business, extra
home or guest house.
Registered as a Texas Historical Landmark, this very unique home and
property is listed for $275,000. The main house is almost 2000 sq. ft.
and has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a sitting room, a full size living
room and dining room. The kitchen has a breakfast nook that includes
an original table and benchs for a cozy eating area. A large screened in
porch overlooks a covered deck in the rear of the house.

Fort Bend County is one of Texas' fastest growing areas and Richmond
is the county seat. This is a great investment as the growth is spreading
rapidly towards this home.
